Yesterday I did the clothes and other unnecessary items part of back to school shopping.
Including.
ALL THREE SEASONS OF ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT FOR 12 DOLLARS EACH.

Also, since I move in in two weeks, I'm going on a hiatus, because I'm doing last minute trips up north, shopping, and am helping three people move in as well.
But, I will be back. :)

Where have I been??
Painting g-ma's garage. All the time.
ALL THE TIME.
It's exhausting, because it's always in direct sun. In 80 to 90 degree weather, in high humidity.
Oh life.

DREAM CRUISE WEEK. AHHHHH. I LOVE IT.
AND. I drove g-mas car, which is one year short of a classic, and it's a little janky, and stalls out if you're stopped for too long, and is a gas guzzler, but. I love it. I love. The steering wheel is skinny, and my hands FIT AROUND IT. I love it.
However, it's not the greatest looking thing in the world.

This weekend we're driving to Traverse and taking day trips to Interlochen to visit the band camp kids, and I'm so excited to be going. I want to do Sleeping Bear and actually go to the top, because normally I always quit after the initial climb.

Also, Erin's taking us to schedule our driver's tests, and then is taking us if our mom can't get off work. Annnd I'm excited.

I want to take an old car and make it ecofriendly and drive it allll the time.

Oh oh oh oh ohhh my goodness.
Yesterday I went on a bike ride with Erin.
Today we went with Mary to a couple vintage stores on Woodward, and at the second I found an adooorable dress for 12 bucks, and put a dress and a skirt and jacket on hold until tomorrow.
And then I had PF Changs with Mariah, Charlotte, and Katie.
And afterwards I watched The Legend of Merle McQuoddy, and omg Shane Botwin!.
And then I watched yesterdays Weeds and rediscovered my love for Andy.
And tomorrow I'll be even closer to having the first coat of paint on the garage.
And Thursday I get my hair cut.
And Friday is our first ever BULLETFEST. (we pool together our magic bullets and make fancy drinks and bake cookies and watch good shows)
Oh man.
I love it.

I have a roommate!! And she seems pretty darn cool so far as I can tell. She's majoring in stage management, which to me is awesome, and she looks like she's a generally good and fun person, so I'm excited.

So we went up north to relax, but ended up having to clean bat shit off of our front porch. It seems that a fair amount of the chinking (the cement between the logs) fell away over the winter, and in moved some bats. That all sucked hard core, but I did get a very sweet looking mirror out of it.

I've been away from the internet for a while, so any big comic-con news I should know about?

So, basically, I want to move to New York.
And to quote Garrison Keillor from the American Masters episode on him, (though this isn't the exact quote, because I can't remember it) "You're here ten minutes and you want to get to work, you want to make something of yourself"

Annnd I decided I'm doing this in two parts because I'm kind of very tired.

DAY 1
Thursday we left Detroit around 1, and got in at La Guardia around 3. We met up with our aunt and got a cab to our hotel (did you know there are tvs in the cabs? wtf??). We stayed at the Marriott Marquis, which is right in Times Square, and our room actually overlooked Times Square, and the theatre 9 to 5 is in was on the 3rd floor of the hotel and IT WAS SO COOL. We had enough time to plan out what we wanted to do while we were there and have dinner, and then we changed for the show.
Let me tell you. Apparently, it's a-okay to go to a broadway show in whatever you want. WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT??? Lame.
Anyways. While we were waiting for the show to start the isle in front of us was empty, until this PACK of what we referred to as The Housewives of New Jersey showed up, with their crazy makeup and their rudeness towards other people and their overly fluffed up hair and their crazy big jewelry. And naturally, naturally, this woman with overgelled fluffy hair that had turned spikey and added two extra inches to the top of her head, sat down in front of me. So I started the show sitting in my knees so I could see.
And OH.MY.FUCKING.GOODNESS. IT WAS. SO AWESOME. SERIOUSLY. SEE IT. YOUTUBE IT. HOLY FUCK.

And after? Well, I'd already googled the stage door, so my sister and I practically ran out to get the best spots. And OH.MY.GOD.
Not only was the security guy amazingly awesome, but we got Van Hughes (WHO IS ADORABLE, HE HAD A DARE SHIRT ON, AND RODE HIS BIKE) autograph, and all of the leads. And you know what that means? ALLISON FUCKING JANNEY. AND SHE USED MY SHARPIE. AND WE GOT TO TAKE PICTURES WITH HER. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

DAY 2
This was my least favorite day. We got ready, then walked to the Gagosian, an art gallery in Chelsea, which was really the only part I enjoyed. They had an exhibit where you went into this room, and inside it were mirrors, lights, and water, and you closed the door so there was no outside light, and it was just...fantastic. I mean, there's cool, and then there's super cool.
After that we took a cab to where the towers were, and we walked around and it was depressing, and also 90 degrees. Also, we went into the church that's over there, and it's supposed to be a really historic place, but the 9/11 remembrancy displays made mostly with pvc pipes kind of took away from the church itself. :(
Eventually we grabbed lunch and then started walking back to the hotel, hitting up Wall Street, which was alright, but again, it was 90 out and we were walking something like 40 blocks. Somewhere around 22nd and 7th we quit and got a cab and went back to the hotel and just sort of laid around and cooled off until we went to get dinner.
After dinner we walked around Times Square for a bit, then Jaclyn and I went back to the stage door because it was around 10:30, so we figured, why the hell not?

The Gagosian. Fuck it was awesome.

But, I now have a valid permit, passed the written portion of the test, and just have to practice some parallel parking and I should be good to take the road test asap, so that's cool.

This morning I dreamed I was up north with my parents, sister and cousin, and we were going to play putt putt. So we pulled into this parking lot that was on top of the course, because the course was inside a hill (wtf?), we got out, set up a long table (wtf?) and pulled out a basket of eggs, and a chicken. We also put out some water bottles and stuff. Everyone except me grabbed an egg, and I took an almost empty bottle of pepsi and finished it.
I then asked where the water jug was, but everyone had already started leaving, so I hurried to catch up. We went inside, and were directed to a small room in the back that had a bunch of desks facing a whiteboard, and I saw my friend Amber, so I went over to talk to her. While we were talking, Robbin Williams came in, dressed in a hawaiin print shirt, cargo shorts, and sandals and socks, and came over and made a joke about working at the Buy Moria, to which I immediately went "OMG!!! I WAS JUST WATCHING CHUCK!!! It's my fav! But not really my fav, it's one of my favorites."
And then he started teaching but it made no sense because instead of writing on the board he would scribble, and then at one point he claimed to have written the national anthem on the board. Dunno.
I turned around and one point and noticed that Mariah was there, and she was taking notes and copying the scribbles on the board down exactly.
Unfortunately, I missed the chance to escape when the rest of my family did, and Taylor had also joined them out of mid air (wtf?), so I was missing the first round of putt putt. Eventually I broke free from the room, and went to fill my waterbottle back up before rejoining my family. I also needed to get an egg, because instead of hatching chickens they hatched golf balls. (wtf?)
So I had to get back to the parking lot by going through a giant, elaborate, ceremony while trying to find the way we came in, eventually found it, and went back to the table. In it, there was the chicken and an egg, and the chicken told me to take the egg, because it hated sitting on them, since they were reminders of even having to lay them in the first place.
I picked up the egg after refilling my water bottle, then called Taylor to tell him I was on my way. Our conversation went something like this:
Taylor: Yeah, so some of those eggs, no golf balls at all. Instead, we got half a gold record, and a Trojan condom.
Me: Did they work?
Taylor: The condom did.
Me: Did you bang my sister?
Taylor:....
And then a cardinal flew into the basket with the chicken, and they started doin it.

And to think this is less strange than my dream yesterday.
Ps there was a bat in the house at 3 am, and it was right.by.my.room. Though now that I think about it I'm fairly certain it was in the attic by the trap door.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, so I'll be MIA for an unknown period of time.

The good news is, I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, and will be watching Super Troopers (which I haven't seen ever), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and I'm not sure what else while heavily medicated, so that promises to be interesting in many, many ways.
